HOW I LEAD

The team is #1 and rolls as a unit. I have their back, always.

  • Regular design team retros and goal setting.

  • Healthy debate + honest, open feedback

  • Provide support, clear blockers and connect day-to-day tasks with the bigger picture (product strategy, biz goals, etc)

HOW I APPROACH DESIGN

This is the best gig in the world, I treat it as such.

  • Set out with a clear, agreed upon problem statement and ways to measure success.

  • Break work into small, achievable milestones, get to market and pivot if needed.

  • Let’s sprint! I am a certified Google Sprintmaster and love getting everyone together (even virtually!) to unpack problems together.

GROWING EACH OTHER

Next to the work itself, I love helping others curate their careers.

  • Radical candor, always

  • Quarterly career conversations centered around proactive peer feedback, and both short + long term goals

  • Empower the team to own their outcomes and visibility moments

UX + Product Designer at heart

My design work in big tech has been over a decade of bringing elegance, fluidity and simplicity to the most complex spaces in both enterprise and consumer software solutions. I’ve designed for nearly every vertical from finance to education and from retail to nonprofit - my superpower is creating beautifully reliable, consistently awesome apps on desktop, web and mobile platforms (mobile and tablet are my favorites..but don’t tell the others).

Note: much of my best work cannot be openly published, so I can’t share it here but I’d love to tell you about it over (virtual!) coffee ☕️

SIMPLIFYING THE COMPLEX

I’ve had the honor of working on flagship and signature products at Microsoft (Power BI, Office 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365), Google (Security + Privacy on Cloud), and Cisco (Webex). I do not shy away from technical details and believe the best experiences are created with a deep understanding of the underlying architecture.

DIVERGE, converge, repeat

I love a good whiteboard session, an exciting brainstorm and a passionate critique; I also believe great ideas come with some solo reflective time - my happy place is headphones on, Spotify pumping and a hot coffee at my side.

inclusivity over everything

As part of the Design team @ Google Cloud Platform, I created the first-of-its-kind Inclusivity Kit, a set of devices and vision simulators that allowed designers to test our work on a spectrum of screen sizes, operating systems and network connections to built empathy for our next billion users in emerging markets.
